"The State Farm Insurance Agency in Corning is amazing! I just moved into a beautiful home in the country; the house was built in 1833. Since I've never had house insurance, I didn't know what to expect. State Farm was the first place I called, and the agent, Nichole Pettitt, provided exceptional service. She explained everything thoroughly, answered all my questions, and offered the best affordable price. The service is amazing, and I highly recommend them. "I would not recommend going with this insurance agency, especially if you are young and are inexperienced when it comes to car insurance! From the beginning of the claim process I felt like they were not working in my best interest. I was told to file with them when I was not at fault, was told I cannot have my parent (who set the policy up) join the call to help ask questions, which I found out is not true, and was constantly spoken to with passive aggressive tones. I assume because I am young and a student I perhaps was not taken seriously? Not sure just trying desperately to find logic in my experience. I was then charged my monthly policy bill a week after my car was completely totaled. They withheld information on how to end my policy because that information "is courtesy" and does not legally have to be given. I am now paying for a policy on a car that does not exist. I am beyond frustrated, save your time and money and go somewhere else."

"I called to ask why my bill was increased 50%, and was told basically everyone's increased that much in NYS. I then increased my deductible from $500 to $1000, to bring the amount down close to where it was. Two months later my bill went up 40%, because as Nikki said, they basically asked NYS to increase and were approved. Apparently during the conversation, I made a mistake and interrupted Nikki and received a very rude response. After hearing her out I informed her I'd shop around and see what's available. I understand people get edgy when their bills increase with no notice, but customer service should still be handled better. Especially since I've been with them for over 20 years!"

"No interest in serving customers. Two weeks after opening a policy, I received a notification via 'snail mail' that I was automatically going to start paying spousal coverage (despite having no spouse). When I phoned the office, they required me to visit them in person to sign papers opting out of said coverage. Cancelling my policy was nearly impossible, and took a month. Even after cancellation, the company still attempted to deduct premiums from my account. I'm thankful I never needed to attempt filing any sort of claim with this poor provider of customer service."
